  1. Hi! Just came here to see if you had made something new, and you had! I have almost never tasted food from India, but now I have became really curious. We have some indian resturants here. I think I have to go there. What do you call this one?

  2. Dear m,
many many thanks for watching my recipes. this recipe is very easy and u can make it at home. this is called Gaajar Halva (Gaajar means Carrot), it is a sweet dish made from grated carrots, sugar and we add mava (Mava means milk boiled for very long time till most of the water in it is evaporated and what remains behind) but u can use condensed milk instead which will give you almost identical taste. If u r using condensed milk avoid sugar. In future I will write all my recipes in English for u.

Following is a recipe for Gajaar Halva.

Peel and grate carrots - 1 Kg
Add 1 tablespoon of butter in a heavy bottom pan. Cook the grated carrots in it for 2 minutes. Add half a cup of full fat milk. Stir well and cook for a while. Now add 400 gms condensed milk in it. Stir well again till you can see that carrots are well cooked. Add dry fruits (Almond flakes, Raisins (sultanas), Nutmeg powder and green Cardamom powder. You can eat both while hot or when cool. can be kept in fridge for couple of days. Enjoy your Gajaar halva. This is very well known and famous Indian sweet dish.
